Sarer and I are excited to announce that Hesterglock Press will be publishing a new pamphlet by visual artist, musician and poet Neil Sparkes.
Xerox sonnets & X-Ray Blues will be out this summer. Neil has read and performed widely throughout the UK, Europe and internationally. His work includes several collections of poetry published by Billy Childish, All Metal and Other Men’s Wives (1989) and Rumba Rumba (Jazz From Hell) (1990). Alongside numerous appearances on radio and television, Sparkes’ work has been published widely in magazines and anthologies including: Apples & Snakes: Velocity, Critical Quarterly, Grandchildren of Albion and Apples & Snakes: Popular Front of Contemporary Poetry. Vocalist, percussionist and founder member of Temple of Sound, and formerly Transglobal Underground, Neil has performed on stages across the globe for over twenty years creating innovative combinations of spoken word, world music, jazz and dub. As musician, lyricist, composer and producer he has worked with Peter Gabriel, The Stranglers, Jah Wobble, Natacha Atlas, Los De Abajo, Batucada Sound Machine and Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali amongst many others.
